2007 to 2012

In October 2007, a 1000 seater tent was pitched near Dzivaresekwa 2  shops and services were held for seven days in this tent. God was gracious at these meetings, for more than twenty souls were baptized at the end of these meetings, that was the birth of Mount Sunset Tabernacle.

We got a place to hold Sunday church services at Dzivaresekwa 2 High school. Those who were baptized were directed to this school for church services.

God continued to bless the work and addding more souls to the flock.

2012 to Date

  • On 1 August 2012, we applied for a church stand to City Council.
  • By God's grace, in December 2015, we were allocated a church stand by Harare City Council and in January 2016 we signed the agreements for the church stand with Harare City Council.
  • By God's grace we managed to construct a temporal structure on our church stand to use for our church services.
  • We also constructed a Janitor's cottage and toilets.

Summary of events

  • Evening prayer meeting services were first held at Masvi house in Dzivaresekwa 3.
  • Later, we moved to Batsirai Primary School for evening services.
  • From Batsirai School we moved to Dzivaresekwa 4 Primary School for evening services only, while we held our Sunday services at Dzivaresekwa 2 High School.
  • Later, we moved f rom Dzivaresekwa 2 High  school to Dzivaresekwa 4 Primary School for both Sunday services and evening services, due to rentals that were too high for us.
  • Due to financial constraints, we moved again from Dzivaresekwa 4 Primary School to our Pastor's house as we were making final arrangements to move to our church stand.
  • Finally, we moved from our Pastor's house to our church stand.
  • It was a blissful feeling to move to our church stand, there was a feeling of freedom and joy in our hearts, as we held our first service in our temporal structure on our own stand.
  • Currently, we are in a big project to build our main Church / Tabernacle.
  • Today, we say *Ebenezer, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us,*

1 Samuel  7:12
*Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.*
